Sony Xperia M5

Sony has been quiet lately in the mobile phone industry. Samsung and Apple have since battled it out in the top of the ranks while Chinese mobile phone companies such as Oppo and Huawei are slowly rising to the top as well.

Just when all is bleak for the Japanese company, Sony released a new phone that should be a very good midrange contender.

In this article, we are going to talk about the Sony Xperia M5. This phone is meant to be a midrange phone and that it hopes to deliver the goods without the hefty price tag you normally would find in other Sony mobile phones.

Since the Sony Xperia Z, the company is quick to introduce their “Omnibalance” design. This is basically a design motif that makes the phone look clean and simple. But, don’t get fooled by the looks because the specs of this phone are quite good.

On the right side of the phone lies the power and volume rockers. The power button is actually metallic and feels robust and it also provides a good tactile feedback as well. The phone also sports round edges that are akin to that of the Xperia Z3 and Z5.

The Sony Xperia M5 is also waterproof like that of its predecessors, although, it doesn’t have flaps for the microUSB port and the headphone jack located at the bottom and top parts of the phone.

This mobile phone comes with a 5-inch IPS display panel with a resolution of 1080×1920 and a pixel density of 441ppi. This is what I love about Sony and their new mobile phones because the company never settles anything below Full HD resolution.

Furthermore, the inclusion of an IPS panel ensures that people will be treated with a visually appealing screen, perfect for media consumption.

As for the performance, Sony did something that was never done before (at least, to my knowledge) and that is their use of a MediaTek chipset as opposed to the Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset commonly used by Samsung.

This phone comes with the MediaTek Helio X10 octa-core processor with clock speeds of 2GHz. Not only that but they company also coupled this with the PowerVR G6200 and 3GB of RAM.

I think that they’ve tried something new and something more inexpensive for their specs. But don’t get me wrong; this performance package is actually quite good. There are no lags to be had whatsoever and people who love multitasking will surely love this midrange phone.

People who love to take photos with their mobile phones will be pleased with the Sony Xperia M5. This phone comes with amazing cameras. It comes with a 21.5-megapixel rear camera and a 13-megapixel front camera.

The camera app is also very good and it is snappy as well. Taking photos and processing it afterwards takes just a matter of seconds (even on the highest quality setting).

The Sony Xperia M5 also comes with 4G LTE support and it is available for users in America and Europe. If you want to get the best out of the new mobile internet technology, I would get a mobile phone signal booster if I were you.

The Sony Xperia M5 is a very good midrange phone coming from a company who has always created flagship models. You will not regret buying the Sony Xperia M5. With superior camera, design, and a good performance package, this phone packs a punch (without packing a heavy price tag).
